The Workers Compensation Research Institute is holding a webinar on Nov. 21 to discuss findings from a recent study of the impact of attorney representation on claim payments.
The WCRI study released in September found that 34% of claims with more than seven days of lost time involved an attorney, as did 64% of claims with a permanent partial disability.
Average indemnity benefits per claim were $41,148 for represented workers, compared with the average of $7,957 paid to injured workers without a lawyer.
