A Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau committee on Tuesday voted in favor of three new regulatory changes proposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The WCIRB’s Classification and Rating Committee approved the exclusion of claims arising from COVID-19 from experience modification ratings, classifying some employees as clerical office workers during California’s stay-at-home order and excluding from reported payroll the payments made to those who are being paid while not engaged in work activities.
