W.R. Berkley Corp. on Tuesday reported net income of $221 million, or $1.72 per share, in the third quarter of 2016, an approximately 45% increase from that period last year.
Investment income increased 9.3% from third quarter 2015 to third quarter 2016. Gross premium growth rose 2.5%. The combined ratio for the quarter was 93.9%.
Book value per share grew 8.5% for the first nine months of 2016.
