Despite the fact that New York lawmakers have not approved a presumption law for frontline employees, the state Workers' Compensation Board has posted a fact sheet that notes many COVID-19 claims are now likely to be approved.
“Can I receive workers' compensation benefits if I get COVID-19 while working?” reads a question-and-answer page posted on the board's website late last week. “Answer: Yes. Depending on the facts, you may receive workers' compensation benefits in New York state due to COVID-19 exposure.”
