Federal prosecutors in Florida announced that five people were indicted on fraud charges for an alleged labor contracting scheme that was structured to avoid payroll taxes and comp coverage.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida said a grand jury returned two indictments against Eduardo Anibal Escobar, 44; Carlos Alberto Rodriguez, 45; Adelmy Tejada, 56; Rene Mauricio Escobar, 53; and Juana Nelida Escobar, 45. The indictments charge the five defendants with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit tax fraud.
