Supreme Court Tosses Jury's Award to Injured Worker Misled by Attorney

The Mississippi Supreme Court ruled that an injured worker failed to present adequate evidence to support a jury’s $2.8 million verdict in his lawsuit against his former attorney for lying to him. Case: Parsons v. Walters, No. 2018-CA-01272-SCT, 06/18/2020, published. Facts and procedural history: Vernon Walters worked for the Powell Transportation Co. In October 2006, he suffered injuries when his vehicle was struck by a train operated by the Kansas City Southern Railway Co.
