Advocates for firefighters and emergency medical service workers in North Carolina are asking lawmakers to expand cancer coverage for those employees.
State workers’ comp laws currently cover just three types of cancer for firefighters and EMS workers, but advocates say legislators need to pass a law such as House Bill 520, which would make nine types of cancers compensable.
