OSHA Delays Enforcement of New Electrical Safety Regulations

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration will delay enforcement of new guidelines for work on electric power generation, transmission and distribution installations until Jan. 31, 2017. The final guidelines originally took effect in April 2014, but legal challenges ensued. OSHA in February 2015 entered into a settlement agreement with the Edison Electric Institute, the Utility Line Clearance Coalition, and the Tree Care Industry Association to settle the challenges.
