Promoters of an alternative workers' compensation benefits plan are offering a seal of approval of sorts for companies that opt out of traditional workers' comp insurance.
The Association for Responsible Alternatives to Workers’ Compensation has produced a registry of companies that offer employees a benefits program that meets criteria the association considers essential to a high-quality plan, said Ryan Brannan, former Texas Workers' Compensation commissioner and now a lobbyist and adviser to the association.
