Telemedicine has the potential to provide prompt evaluation of a worker injured in a remote location or in the middle of the night, but that’s only one possible use of the service in workers’ comp, according to a new white paper from Coventry Workers’ Comp Services.
Telemedicine could be useful in the nurse triage process, in which an injured worker is assessed to determine whether self-care is appropriate or a visit to a clinic is recommended, Coventry said.
