The federal workplace safety agency has agreed to further delay the enforcement of a new rule's anti-retaliation provisions until Dec. 1 while a lawsuit plays out.
A workers' compensation insurer, several trade organizations and three employers sued the Occupational Safety and Health Administration this summer over the provisions, which forbid employers to discourage workers from reporting injuries. The lawsuit is pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, which requested the delay.
