Not all states were prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic, but the way agencies have responded has likely changed the workers’ compensation industry forever, experts said during an online panel Thursday.
Even after the pandemic subsides, many new norms adopted in response to the outbreak will be difficult to rescind, said Todd Brown, practice leader of compliance and regulatory affairs for bill review company Medata.
“Once you let the horse out of the barn, how do you get him back in?” Brown said in regard to increased teleconferencing and employees working from home.
