Employers Holdings on Thursday reported net income of $29.2 million for the second quarter, down from $45.6 million in the prior-year quarter.
The Reno, Nevada-based carrier reported net written premiums of $188.3 million, down 1% from $190.8 million in the second quarter of 2014. The company's combined ratio declined 7.2 percentage points to 98.8% during the quarter.
The company said its net rate increased about 1% nationwide, but by 10% in California.
