Officials from the Oregon Workers’ Compensation Division and Management-Labor Advisory Committee have made last-minute edits to a proposed emergency rule that would allow the auditing of processes behind denied COVID-19 claims filed by workers.
The so-called “reasonable investigation” rule, which officials said is intended to go into effect at the beginning of October, would be active for 180 days while stakeholders attempt to come up with a more concrete solution using the formal rulemaking process, said WCD Administrator Sally Coen.
