A plan to provide cost-of-living adjustments to benefits for essential workers who die from COVID-19 passed the New Jersey Senate Monday morning.
“This is an opportunity for us to put a marker down that these lives are important and the work that they do is truly essential and making sure that we respect that,” the sponsor, Sen. Troy Singleton, D-Moorestown, told a local news outlet.
Senate Bill 2476 was approved 38-1. It now goes to the Assembly side of the Capitol.
