Health care providers are welcoming a plan by the New York State Workers' Compensation Board to raise reimbursement rates for the first time in years, and employers don't feel so bad themselves.
The board announced this week it would embark on an ambitious plan to raise fees for hospitals and doctors, convert to a standardized claim form, set up a web portal so providers can easily determine if their treatment plans are in keeping with workers' compensation guidelines, and expand the types of providers who can treat injured workers.
