While this year’s wildfire season has gotten off to a slow start in California and other parts of the West, the situation could soon change — and businesses are being warned about potential impacts to workers.
As of Sunday, the number of acres burned by wildfires in California was down 90% compared to the average from the past five years, the Associated Press reported. A wet winter, relatively cooler temperatures and calmer winds have been contributing factors, a CalFire official told AP.
