BWC Proposes Amendments to Medical Impairment Rating Registry Rules

The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is holding a hearing Sept. 18 on proposed amendments to the rules for its medical impairment rating registry program. The proposed amendments would increase cancellation fees owed to providers who are selected from the registry to resolve disputes over the degree of an injured worker’s medical impairment. Current rules require a party to give at least three days' notice of intent to cancel an evaluation. The evaluating physician is entitled to a $300 cancellation fee if the request is not timely.
