Despite sharp criticism from insurance representatives that parts of Florida's 2021 medical reimbursement plans are based on “made-up numbers,” the state's Three-Member Panel unanimously endorsed the new methodology with few questions asked.
At its annual meeting Thursday afternoon, the panel approved some significant changes to the maximum reimbursement allowances for hospitals, surgical centers and physicians. Most contentious were the charge-based hospital inpatient fees, which already are considered high in Florida.
