BLS: Fatal Falls a Growing Percentage of Construction Deaths

Four hundred and five workers in private-sector construction fell to their deaths from rooftops from 2011 to 2014, with 67 workers falling more than 30 feet, according to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Another 281 construction workers suffered fatal falls from ladders during that period, while 172 died after falling from scaffolds and 312 died from other falls, BLS said in a press release on Tuesday.
