The Texas Department of Insurance has posted an order approving a proposal by the National Council on Compensation Insurance to eliminate classification codes that have low credibility, meaning there is not enough premium volume from the codes to develop meaningful data.
The changes will apply to new and renewal policies effective on and after July 1.
NCCI has reassigned the little-used codes to other codes. For example, classification 2560 for parachute and umbrella manufacturing is now a part of classification 2501, used for cloth and canvas manufacturing.
