Using cadaver tissue to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL, may increase the risk of revision reconstruction postoperatively, according to new research.
The findings were presented at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine’s Specialty Day on March 5.
The study adds to research demonstrating that the bone-patellar tendon-bone autograft, which uses a graft harvested from the surgical patient, remains a strong choice for these surgeries, AOSSM said in a news release.
