The Kentucky Department of Workers' Claims has finalized its 2020 physician fee schedule, and it shows an increase for some but not all procedures.
While most surgery fees increased modestly, reimbursement for evaluation and management, radiology and physical medicine were held to their 2018 levels, officials said. Radiology fees, in particular, have been a concern because advocates for coal miners have said the state already faces a shortage of physicians qualified to diagnose black-lung disease.
