South Carolina workers’ compensation commissioners would be required to be U.S. citizens and at least 32 under a bill filed ahead of next year’s legislative session.
Senate Bill 930, by Sen. Richard Harpootlian, D-Richland, would also require gubernatorial appointees to the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission to have been a licensed attorney for at least eight years and a state resident for at least five years.
