More Agreement on Drug Costs in Medicare Set-Asides, NCCI Finds

The gap between workers’ comp Medicare set-aside amounts submitted to the federal government and the amount that’s approved has narrowed in recent years, due to greater agreement on future drug costs, according to a report released by National Council on Compensation Insurance Monday. MSA amounts submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services averaged $35,921 in 2010, while amounts approved by CMS averaged $76,354, a difference of $40,433.
