Maryland lawmakers have reintroduced bills that were never called for a hearing last year and would create presumptions that hypertension and post-traumatic stress disorder are compensable conditions for first responders.
House Bill 1145, by Del. Mike Rogers, D-Anne Arundel, would create a presumption that hypertension is compensable for firefighters, firefighting instructors, rescue squad members and advanced life support unit members.
HB 1145 was filed last year as HB 919, which was never called for a hearing.
