Hypertension, PTSD Presumptions Brought Back Before Lawmakers

Maryland lawmakers have reintroduced bills that were never called for a hearing last year and would create presumptions that hypertension and post-traumatic stress disorder are compensable conditions for first responders. House Bill 1145, by Del. Mike Rogers, D-Anne Arundel, would create a presumption that hypertension is compensable for firefighters, firefighting instructors, rescue squad members and advanced life support unit members.
