Just as some states are reopening for business during the virus pandemic, the Tennessee Bureau of Workers' Compensation this week decided to cancel its annual conference that was set for June 10-12.
“This was a difficult, but necessary, decision and we believe that it is in the best interest of everyone that would have attended the event,” organizer Jeff Francis said on the bureau's website.
Room reservations at the Embassy Suites hotel in Murfreesboro can be canceled without penalty and deposits will be returned. The bureau, which holds the conference in cooperation with the International Workers' Compensation Foundation, is reviewing whether to reschedule the event.
