EMC Reports Growth in Premium Volume, Net Income

EMC Insurance Group on Thursday reported net income of $8.75 million during the second quarter, or eight times the $1.01 million in profits earned in the second quarter of 2014. For the first six months of 2015, EMC reported net income of $29.1 million, compared to $11.6 million during the first half of last year. EMC reported net written premiums of $152.2 million during the second quarter, up 9.4% from $139 million in the prior-year quarter.
