Business Wants New Laws to Lower Costs; Claimants' Attorneys Say Drop NCCI

Just two weeks ahead of a rate hearing on a proposed 19.6% increase, Florida business groups and employers have formed a second task force to craft legislative solutions to trim costs. Any new reforms would have to steer clear of recent Florida Supreme Court decisions that overturning statutes that limited the duration of temporary disability benefits and placed a strict cap on attorney fees.
