The board of directors for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation on Wednesday approved a $28 million program to help nursing homes and assisted living facilities upgrade their air and ventilation systems.
In a special meeting, the board voted unanimously to amend its fiscal 2021 budget and make the grants available to facilities to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 respiratory illness. The money will come via the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security, or CARES Act and will provide up to $15,000 per facility.
