Three bills affecting the Texas workers' compensation system will see committee hearings Tuesday, less than a week before a deadline on committee action.
House Bill 387, sponsored by Rep. Philip Cortez, D-San Antonio, would allow physicians to designate nurse practitioners or advanced-practice nurses to complete work-status reports. The bill passed the House April 16 and will be heard in the Senate Business and Commerce Committee.
