A Southern California employer suing the administrators of the EquityComp workers’ compensation program will have to pursue unfair competition and bad faith claims in state court after dropping its appeal of a federal judge’s ruling that threw out racketeering allegations.
The U.S. District Court for Central California on Thursday remanded to the Riverside County Superior Court a complaint that BSA Framing Inc. filed in July 2017. The construction company accused Applied Underwriters Inc. and three affiliates of fraudulently marketing the EquityComp program.
