Proposed Interpreter Regulation Would Bring Clarity, Some Say

The California Division of Workers’ Compensation has rolled out a long-awaited fee schedule regulation for interpretive services, which emphasizes the use of certified interpreters and eliminates calculations of charges based on “market rate.” The fee schedule would set a full-day rate of $448 for certified interpreters providing services at hearings or deposition. A provisionally certified interpreter would receive $232 for a full-day hearing. The rate for medical appointments or medical-legal evaluations would be $86.50 per hour for a certified interpreter, and $57.75...
