The Kansas Insurance Department has adopted a rule, effective March 2, regarding an affidavit of exempt status in workers’ compensation.
Under the rule, each company that underwrites workers’ compensation insurance in the state must accept an executed affidavit of exempt status provided by an insured, unless there is sufficient evidence that the person who signed the affidavit is required to be covered under the workers’ compensation act.
