A bill that would cap awards when an employer deliberately intends to injure a worker is heading to the desk of Gov. Jim Justice.
The Senate on Friday voted 24-8 to pass HB 3270. The state House of Representatives voted 52-45 to pass the bill in February.
The measure, by Del. John Hott, R-Grant, would cap noneconomic damages at $500,000 when a worker proves an employer deliberately and intentionally caused a workplace injury or death.
