Great American Promotes Carol Sipe to SVP in Property and Casualty Group

Great American Insurance Group promoted Carol Sipe to senior vice president of its property and casualty group.

Sipe since 2009 has served as president of Summit, a workers’ compensation insurance carrier based in Lakeland, Florida, that provides coverage in the southeastern U.S.

She’s held several positions since joining the carrier in 1989, including senior vice president and chief operating officer.

Great American’s parent company, American Financial Group Inc., acquired Summit in 2014.

Sipe will continue as president of Summit, which provides workers' compensation insurance in 12 states including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. She will also serve as the reporting officer overseeing Great American subsidiary Republic Indemnity.

Great American Insurance Group, based in Cincinnati, is a property and casualty carrier focused on specialty commercial products for businesses, and the sale of annuities.
