Use of medical services increased in the third quarter of 2020 compared to the early days of the pandemic, but utilization is still lower than it was in previous years, according to the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California.
“For all medical services, we’re still seeing a significant slowdown in medical treatments,” Julia Zhang, managing director of medical analytics for WCIRB, said during an Actuarial Committee meeting Tuesday.
Use of medical services rebounded between June and September after a slowdown between late March and May, Zhang said.
