The administrative director for the California Division of Workers’ Compensation said the agency is another step closer to solving yearslong issues by fulfilling recommendations spelled out in a 2019 audit that criticized its handling of qualified medical evaluators.
But advocates who represent the QME community said that even if the DWC has made progress, its plans for rectifying issues over retaining and compensating evaluators still fall short.
