Governor Signs Bill Limiting Benefits, Compromise Settlements

Gov. Eric Greitens on Wednesday signed into law a workers’ compensation bill he said will improve the state’s business climate and rein in trial lawyers. Senate Bill 66, by Sen. Dave Schatz, R-Sullivan, defines maximum medical improvement as the point at which an injured worker’s medical condition has stabilized and can no longer reasonably improve with additional medical care.
