Medical independent review organizations in Texas are taking another crack at increasing their service fees, even as at least one IRO chief believes there’s not much chance of succeeding.
Following the closing of its public comment period on proposed amendments to IRO rules on Aug. 15, the Texas Department of Insurance announced that it has formed an Independent Review Organization Advisory Group. The committee will conduct a public meeting on Sept. 9 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the William P. Hobby Building in Austin.
