A new study in the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery has found that outcomes of anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty were significantly worse in workers’ comp claimants compared to a control group not receiving workers’ comp benefits.
The study by Dr. Andrew Jawa et al. looked at surgery outcomes of 13 workers’ compensation claimants — all of them men and including 12 laborers — compared to the control group of 63 patients.
