Barrett Business Services, a staffing firm that faces shareholder lawsuits and a U.S. Securities Exchange Commission investigation because of questions about its workers' compensation reserve practices, reported net income of $11.6 million in the third quarter, reversing a $37.8 million net loss in the same period of 2014.
Barrett said net revenues were up 14% to $199.3 million during the quarter. Last year's loss reflected Barrett's decision to increase its self-insured workers' compensation reserve by $80 million.
