Florida doctors would be in line for a raise regardless of the types of injured workers they’re treating, under legislation moving through the state House of Representatives.
House Bill 161, by the House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee, would increase the maximum reimbursement for physicians to 150% of the Medicare rate from 110%. The bill would also increase maximum payments for surgical procedures to 150% of Medicare’s rate from 140%.
The bill would also authorize a 50% increase in witness fees.
