Claims for COVID-19 increased sharply in May and June, the California Workers’ Compensation Institute reported.
CWCI reports 10,528 COVID-19 claims with a date of injury in June had been filed as of Aug. 10. That’s more than double the 4,438 claims with a June injury date that had been filed as of July 6.
Similarly, the number of claims with an injury date in May increased 18% to 4,606 as of Aug. 10 compared to 3,889 in July.
