The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing more than $2 million in fines against three Alabama companies that it says were responsible for an accident that caused an employee of an automotive parts manufacturer to be crushed to death two weeks before her wedding day.
Regina Allen Elsea was crushed to death on June 18 when a robotic machine restarted abruptly after the assembly line was stopped so workers could clear a sensor fault. OSHA said in a press release that Elsea had planned to get married two weeks later.
