In continuing fallout from the Unicover reinsurance scandal that plagued the workers' compensation market in the late 1990's and early 2000's, the Second Appellate District of California yesterday, in an opinion not certified for publication, reversed an arbitration award that favored the reinsurers, stating that the subsidiaries of Superior National Insurance Company which were the subject of the reinsurance contracts were entitled to a full return of premium without offset.
