The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health announced this week that it has extended the expiration date of an emergency regulation for heat illness prevention.
The emergency regulation had been set to expire on Wednesday, but it was extended 120 days by the Office of Administrative Law to retain protection for workers while Cal/OSHA finalizes a permanent regulation.
Cal/OSHA said the regulation represents the first heat illness prevention regulation in the nation.
