MOTOR CARRIERS OF MONTANA EARN $224K SAFETY RETURN Group Program Sets Positive Example by Exhibiting Improvement in Workplace Safety

HELENA, MT-Montana State Fund (MSF), the state's largest workers' compensation insurance company, presented the Motor Carriers of Montana (MCM) with a check amounting to nearly a quarter of a million dollars ($224,044.33). The check is a retrospective return to policyholders who have participated in the group safety program and exhibited improvement in workplace safety efforts.

MSF President and CEO, Laurence Hubbard, had the following to say about the program: "Because of their commitment to improving their workplace safety culture, the Motor Carriers of Montana have earned this safety return. The group has put safety in the front of their collective mind and proven that safety pays."

 

Duane Williams, the Executive Director of MCM, said "Working alongside Montana State Fund, we have been able to improve our members' workplace safety culture and reduce on the job accidents. The employers and their workers do the hard part-stressing workplace safety each day-but this is truly a team effort.

 

23 MCM group members will share the total return with the average check to policyholders amounting to roughly $9,700. The checks range from approximately $64 to more than $34,000 depending on policy size, premium paid and losses incurred.
