Our clients will benefit greatly from that experience and knowledge.”

Jim served as the Chairman of DRI’s Workers’ Compensation Community, 2021—2022. He is a Fellow in the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers and serves on its Board of Governors. He is currently serving as Treasurer for the Board.

Jim has carried Martindale Hubbell’s highest rating (AV) since 1990 and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in Americasince 1995. He has also been named Lawyer of the Year in Jackson, Mississippi for Workers' Compensation Law, Employers, by The Best Lawyers in America, and in 2012 was named Lawyer of the Year by the Mississippi College School of Law for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement in the Legal Community. In 2015, he was awarded the Kenneth G. Perry Professionalism Award, an award given annually by the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Mississippi Bar in recognition of Exceptional Professionalism in the practice of workers’ compensation law.

Jim was honored to receive WorkCompCentral’s Magna Comp Laude® Award in 2021. He served in 2022 as part of the Advisory Committee for the Comp Laude Awards.

He served as a member of the Board of Directors of and is Past-President of the Mississippi Workers' Compensation Educational Association, Inc. (MWCEA), the entity which works closely with the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission in presenting the annual Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference and other educational efforts focused on workers’ compensation issues. He served as Chairman of the annual Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference from 2008 through 2021.

In addition to his work with the MWCEA, he is an active participant in the Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI) in Orlando, Florida where he co-chairs the National Workers' Compensation Review, an organization offering high level and cutting edge programming designed to serve the intersection of industry, claims, medicine and law. He and his firm also represent Mississippi in the Multi-State program at WCI which operates as the Workers’ Compensation Defense Institute, an organization that offers programming and training for multi-state adjusters and other claims professionals.

Cattie & Gonzalez Partner Rafael Gonzalez is overjoyed about the addition of Jim Anderson to the firm. “I have known Jim for over 20 years. Over that time period, we have served on various councils and committees together, we have presented at various seminars and conferences together, we have volunteered at multiple organizational events together. He is a personal mentor, an example, a leader, but more importantly, a friend. I am really looking forward to serving our clients with Jim as part of our team. I am excited about having his extraordinary knowledge and experience in our firm and adding his extensive expertise to our already best in the country MSP legal compliance team.”

Jim will focus his work for Cattie & Gonzalez, PLLC, a national law firm serving clients in all 50 states and US territories in Medicare and Medicaid secondary payer compliance, including mandatory reporting, conditional payment resolution, and set aside allocations and legal opinions, on cultivating relationships and understanding the Medicare/Medicaid compliance issues facing employers, insurance carriers, and self-insureds today, providing compliance solutions on represented and unrepresented claimant cases in the workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability context.
