The New York Senate on Thursday passed a bill, similar to a measure the governor vetoed in December, that would allow all workers to file claims for mental stress.
The Senate voted 41-17 to pass Senate Bill 6635, by Sen. Jessica Ramos, D-Queens, which would amend a statute that prohibits the Workers’ Compensation Board from disallowing mental injury claims on the grounds that workers were not exposed to stress that was greater than what is typical for a given work environment.
